I’ve said repeatedly that businesses whose employees have a high
level of personal integrity are more likely to succeed than those whose
employees don’t.  Of course, integrity is borne of character.  But how
do you know who has high integrity and who doesn’t?  Following are two
quotes that will help you judge.

1.  When the character of a man is unclear to you, look at his friends.  (Japanese proverb)

2. You can tell the character of every man when you see how he receives praise.  (Seneca)

3.  A person reveals his character by nothing so clearly as the joke he resents.  (Georg Lichtenberg)

4.  Men show their characters in nothing more clearly than what they think laughable.  (Johann Wolfgang Von Goerthe)

5.  People do not seem to realize that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.  (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

6.  The best index to a person’s character is (a) how he treats
people who can’t do him any good, and (b) how he treats people who
can’t fight back.  (Abigail Van Buren, Dear Abby)

You might also want to judge yourself by these standards and see how you measure up.
