I’m amazed at all the people who say (right out loud,) “All you care
about is the money!” In the first place, that’s not ALL I care about.
I care about a lot of things. I care about the environment (the
business environment, the family environment, the environment of the
world.) I care about providing a means whereby people can feed their
families. I care about how their families are doing (financially,
socially, and in every other way.) I care about how our communities
are doing. I care about being socially responsible. I care about how
our company is viewed in the community. I care about giving something
back.
And because I care about these things, I have to care about the money!
Is that hard to see? It’s profit that allows us to feed families,
and provide on-going employment opportunities. It’s profit that allows
us to do a matching 401K program. It’s profit that allows us to give
something back to the community. It’s profit that allows us to pay
taxes that are used to benefit all of us. It’s profit that allows us
to bring these blessings to more and more people as we expand.
So next time you say, “All you care about is the money,” remember
two things: 1) It’s not all I care about and 2) maybe you ought to be a
little more concerned about it yourself. After all, if it weren’t for
the money, you wouldn’t be here.
