Surprisingly he is not a blue blood-ivy league- who is who, but rather a hick from the sticks who has taught himself to be able to be successful. According to the article he has spent countless hours in front of the mirror practicing smiling, and recording himself speaking and then watching himself over and over again in an effort to better his communication skills and to overcome his tendency to never smile.
